Writers’ Showcase

Cyberpunk Apocalypse Launches Writer’s Showcase Series

The Writer’s showcase is an experiment working to advance reading as performance. The series features participants of the Cyberpunk Apocalypse Visiting Writer program along with local Pittsburgh performers. The Visiting Writers are encouraged to think critically about readings in general, and their own reading as performance before preparing their end of stay showcase event.

Our first showcase featured Chicago poet Matt Whispers along with local artists Tom Dewing, Tyler McAndrew, Jenn Howard, and Todd Faltin. Daniel McCloskey MCed in the old Optimus Technology building and T Shirts were thrown into the crowd between acts.

The second Writer’s Showcase was a solo performance by M Young. M a talented comic artist and Xeric award winner chose to present her comic work through poetry and tactile experience.

The Heinz Endowments supports efforts to make southwestern Pennsylvania a premier place to live and work, a center for learning and educational excellence, and a region that embraces diversity and inclusion.

niaking asked: Just wanted to say hi. I don't know if you remember me, but you submitted something to one of my zines a million years ago. I just saw Virgie Tovar posted something on Facebook where she quoted you, and I was like, "I wonder if that's the same Jackie Wang..." So I looked you up and here you are!

yeah! of course i remember you. glad to re-connect. what are you up to these days?
